Personality Compatibility
Every one of the 16 Jungian personality types brings a distinct cognitive function stack to how it works, loves, and befriends. This matrix pairs each type with every other type, exploring the resulting dynamic (where communication flows easily, where friction tends to appear, and where each pairing has room to grow), grounded in function-stack theory and Big Five (OCEAN) correlations.
These pairings are reflective, educational observations drawn from Jungian typology and Big Five personality research: a tool for self-reflection, not clinical or relationship counselling.
Every pairing below reads two layers at once: a Jungian cognitive-function dynamic, and the Big Five correlations behind each type's OCEAN percentages. The two usually point the same direction, but not always, so it helps to know how Big Five traits and Jungian types actually line up before reading a specific pairing. A couple who share a Big Five trait but land on opposite Jungian letters often shows up in the friction section of their profile; see where the two models tend to pull apart for why that happens, or which framework to trust, and for what if a pairing's two readings seem to disagree.
